CHHS Senior is Making All the Right Connections

Josh Sanicky is a high school senior with a plan. Currently enrolled in Cuyahoga Valley Career Center’s (CVCC) Electrical Systems Program, Sanicky will enter into an electrical apprenticeship with Emery Electric in Twinsburg after graduating from high school this spring. Sanicky made the connection to Emery Electric through CVCC’s Job Placement program in cooperation with the school’s Career and Community Resources Department. He currently works part-time at Emery in the residential area. He has also worked with CVCC’s Facilities and Operations Department, helps in his family’s landscaping business, and assists with the electronics and sound system at his church.

Sanicky chose to enroll in the Electrical Systems Program after a friend, a program alumnus, recommended it to him. Additionally, he was inspired by family members who are in the electrical field.  Overall, Sanicky appreciates the welcoming environment that  CVCC provides students. He is immensely pleased at how much he has learned through the program and that he has been able to work in the field while increasing his knowledge about electrical systems. He is still deciding whether he prefers residential or commercial electrical work.

Ultimately, Sanicky plans to go on to college to obtain a construction management degree and to own his own company someday.

Congratulations to Sanicky on making a solid career plan after graduation!
