Students of the Month Recognized at Board Meeting

The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education recognized Students of the Month for December and January at its January 19 meeting.  

Recognized as December Students of the Month from the elementary school were Olivia Gindlesperger, Grade 4; and James Meklemburg, Grade 5. Recognized as January Students of the Month were Elliott Lunder,Grade 3; and Nathalya Hernandez, Grade 3. November Student of the Month Anella Doan, Grade 2, who was not able to attend the November Board meeting, was also recognized.  

Principal Joy Houchen introduced all of the students from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School and remarked about each of them.

Anella Doan
Anella was chosen for being responsible, respectful, and eager to learn. Throughout this school year, Anella has made learning a top priority. She is a valued participant in class and remains engaged in all parts of her day. She is a rock star in math and is able to apply critical thinking skills to new math concepts. She is a caring friend to all and encourages others to do their best. She works hard and makes safe choices.  
 
James (Jimmy) Meklemburg
Jimmy tackles new challenges seriously, eagerly, and with a positive attitude.  He shows perseverance in all that he does.  He has a kind, caring, and friendly attitude that makes him a friend to all.  He consistently makes good choices throughout the school day. 
 
Olivia Gindlesperger
Olivia is an extremely caring person who is willing to help anyone with anything.  She works very hard on her school work and is an engaged and enthusiastic learner.  Her cheerful attitude  brightens up any classroom. She is polite to adults and peers in and out of the classroom. She consistently makes good choices in all parts of the school day.  
 
Elliott Lunder
Elliot enters the classroom with a big smile and an open mind. He demonstrates his manners on a daily basis and is always respectful and kind in his interactions with others. He is a conscientious and hard working student, His compassion for peers and others is valued and admirable.
 
Nathalya Hernandez
Nathalya has been selected for exemplifying positivity, kindness, and an eagerness to learn. Nathalya consistently shares her excitement with others and brightens our school community with a contagious smile and a kind heart. She demonstrates perseverance when faced with challenges and is determined to reach her full potential in all areas of her life.
