Cuyahoga Heights Middle School Ranks #16 in Ohio in New U.S. News & World Report Listing

Students and staff at Cuyahoga Heights Middle School (CHMS) have something to crow about.  Their school was ranked the 16th best middle school among the 294 middle schools in the State of Ohio, according to the latest listing from U.S. News & World Report.  CHMS serves grades 6-8.

Schools were ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare their students for high school.  Data used in this year’s rankings was based on the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 school years.

At CHMS, 90% of students scored at or above the proficient level for math, and 87% scored at or above that level for reading. Both math and reading performance were considered “well above expectations” in the report.

“This recognition verifies the academic accomplishments of our students and the hard work of our staff. It’s something everyone can be proud of,” said Principal Mike Janatovich.
