The April 23 meeting provided an opportunity for the Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education to honor the district’s Students of the Month. Each student was introduced to the Board at the meeting and presented with a certificate commemorating their accomplishment.
Recognized from Cuyahoga Heights Elementary School (CHES) were:
Raelyn Moriarity – Pre-K AM Class
Raelyn demonstrates the outstanding traits that exemplify CHES: Caring, Honest, Engaged, and Safe. She always shows kindness by sharing, helping others, and using gentle words, especially to students with disabilities. Her caring heart shines in the classroom, whether offering a comforting hug to classmates or teachers or encouraging a friend to play. She makes others smile and laugh constantly. Her honesty stands out. She always tells the truth and takes responsibility for her actions, setting a great example for her classmates. Whether listening attentively during storytime, participating in activities with enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions, or sharing her own experiences, Raelyn is always eager to learn and grow. She also makes safety a priority. She follows classroom rules and reminds friends to make safe choices. Her responsible actions help create a positive and secure environment for everyone.
Collin Clemence – Pre-K PM Class
Collin is a model preschooler who brings joy and kindness to our classroom each day. He is always eager to come in, ready to learn, and excited to take on the day. Colin plays well with others, is a caring friend to all, and includes everyone in his play. He’s always willing to lend a hand or share with a friend. His sense of humor and contagious smile brightened up our classroom.
From Cuyahoga Heights Middle School (CHMS):
Lincoln Candow – Grade 6
Lincoln is a hard-working student who demonstrates caring and kindness in class. He is always willing to lend his support and help a student in need. He definitely exhibits the traits of being caring, honest, motivated, and is focused on being successful in the classroom,
Julia Nichols - Grade 7
Julia exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding student. Her unwavering positivity brightens the classroom daily, creating an environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate and learn. What truly sets her apart is her consistency. She completes all assignments thoroughly and promptly. Her thoughtful contributions to discussions demonstrate both her academic preparation and her desire to engage meaningfully with the material. Julia’s reliable work ethic and positive attitude make her not only an excellent student but also an inspiring role model for her peers.
Madelyn Smith – Grade 8
Maddie totally embodies CHES’s word of the month: hope. She is always positive, even when things get tough, and her positive attitude makes everyone around her feel more upbeat. Maddie shows us that hope isn’t just wishing for something but is also about believing that things can get better and working toward making them better.
From Cuyahoga Heights High School:
Jhordan Thompson – Grade 9
Since joining the district at the start of this school year, Jhordan has been a light of positivity in class. She comes to class everyday with a smile on her face, eager to learn, and prepared to accomplish whatever task is before her. She pushes herself to participate, even when dealing with challenging material. She demonstrates leadership skills by consistently treating her peers with respect and fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Her French teacher states that she is swiftly and naturally acquiring the French language and mastering many forms that are difficult for beginner-level students ,while her World History teacher notes that she is eager to learn and provides thoughtful answers that contribute to a positive learning environment.
Jemma D’Amico – Grade 10
Jemma is an outstandingly reliable, service-minded student who steps up whenever an opportunity presents itself. Her consistent work ethic, can-do attitude, subtle leadership style, and respect for her peers and teachers show that she is of the highest character. Her exceptional qualities are always noticed and appreciated.
Tristan West – Grade 11
Tristan is a reliable, hard-working, young man who always puts his best foot forward. While often soft-spoken in class, he is intelligent, a good friend, and a great actor whose sense of humor creates a positive classroom environment. He often asks insightful questions, exhibits positive leadership every day, and lends an ear or offers words of encouragement to his friends and classmates.
Nick Dabrowski – Grade 12
Nick is a great student who exemplifies the best that CHHS has to offer, making it one of the best schools in Ohio. He comes to class with a positive attitude every day. He is hardworking, respectful to adults, and kind to his peers. He often looks out for others. He always tries his best and makes the most of opportunities for growth. He never complains, never slacks off, and is determined to finish his senior year on a high note. Nick is not only a great student, but more importantly, a great all-around young adult.
