Eighth Graders Promoted to High School

The Cuyahoga Heights High School Class of 2030 was officially promoted to high school in a ceremony on Friday, June 5 in the Paul L. Baumgardner Auditorium. 

Audrey Morway (Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field) and Logan Beno (Football, Basketball, Track & Field) were presented Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Awards. This award is given to one middle school female athlete and one male athlete for demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship, integrity, and ethics, and is the highest honor an athlete can achieve.

Chase Henry received the Educational Service Center of Northeast Ohio’s Humanitarian Award. Recipients for this award are nominated by their respective school administrators for demonstrating leadership, performing community service, and exhibiting strength of character.  

The following students received the President’s Award for Academic Excellence for meeting specific criteria, including grade point average, academic achievement, and/or other criteria determined by their school. Emma Archazki, Logan Beno, Kellan Dabrowski, Santi Dehn, Olivia, Gindlesperger, Chase Henry, Callan Hensley, Rose Jackson, Ayden Jasany, Cru Kovitch, Alaina Lawrence, Lucas Lindway, Audrey Morway, Julia Nichols, Owen Petel, Parker Skirkanic, Eloise Streitman, Chelsy Stys, Alyssa Tosado, Aiden Tyna, and Cash Wysocki. 

Receiving the President’s Award for Academic Achievement were the following students, also meeting a set of specific criteria: Malachai Akers, Alannah Chech, Zoe Emmert, Julian Gwynn,Max Johnston, Mia Journic, Blake Kirchner, Hailey Lamont, Madalynn Mormile, Rhys Munoz, and Rocco Presot.

Classmates Olivia Gindlesperger and Alaina Lawrence made remarks to the class. The students and their families also enjoyed a video that highlighted the class’s many accomplishments during their middle school years. At the concussion of the program, each  student was presented a promotion certificate and any additional awards they may have earned.
